On July 20, Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong becomes the first human to walk on the surface of the Moon.

On September 2, the first automated teller machine, or ATM, is installed by Chemical Bank at its branch in Rockville Centre, New York.

Now, they are everywhere from U.S. Navy ships to Buckingham Palace.

Firefighters add 3M™ Light Water™ Foam to their tools for fighting fires.
